Apple Maps Cycling Directions Now Available Throughout Germany

Apple announced it has released support for cycling navigation in Germany, with immediate effect.

The new feature allows bicycle riders to receive turn-by-turn directions while riding their bikes throughout the country.

It supports bike lanes, bike paths, and bike-friendly roads as much as possible and includes details such as elevation, how busy a particular street is, and whether there are stairs along a route.

When used on the Apple Watch, features such as voice guidance and haptic feedback make it easier for the rider to stay focused on the path ahead.

In addition to the turn-by-turn directions, Apple is now offering its “Detailed City Experience” for Berlin, Hamburg, and Munich.    This offers more detailed road markings and additional custom-designed three-dimensional models of landmarks.

Apple Maps cycling directions are already available in the United States, China, and Japan, as well as in a limited number of cities across the globe including Barcelona, London, and Toronto.
